Look at You

Greeting the sun for the first time this day as it strongly stands in its radiance illuminating the midday sky

Shafts of light passing through the windows left ajar, kissing your cheeks as the curtains dance and flutter with the blowing wind

Struggling to lift the body, heavy and listless from the exhaustion and abuse it has been taking beyond its consent

Covering your ears, refusing to listen to the boisterous incessant sirens personally set to wake yourself back to life again

But reaching your limit, bidding for a few more minutes, seizing every opportunity there is, pleading for the rest you believe you’re worth

Falling ill from overworking yourself, lost in all the confusion and chaos, and finally breaking down from pressures and stress

Dismissing the unrelenting sirens, squeezing your pillow, back to your bed and in your peaceful slumber once again
